However I would be grateful if someone could clear-up which is the correct oil to use in my 2001 115bhp TDI?The manual says 5w-40 or Ford spec WSS-M2C917-A.Can I use oil VW505.00?Or is it VW505.01? NikpV Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 Ford specify Formula SD ie vw 505.01, wss-m2c917-A, acea a3-98/b3-98 or api sj/cf sae 5w-40 used about 4.5l on my last oil change. Garage gave me the other 0.5l in the original bottle for top ups. Says on the bottle 'a semi synthetic high performance engine oil specially developed for diesel engines with Pumpe duse technology' Quote
